A brand new jacket design in the most unique fabric we've ever released.

For the Scout Jacket we wanted a functional modern design, heavily inspired by our favorite heritage workwear pieces. It's part Type III jacket, part chore coat, part entirely new design. Our favorite detail is the drop-in lower pockets integrated into the front seam line. No more only fitting half your hand in the front pockets; these pockets are huge!

The intricately textured 17oz. sashiko fabric we used here is without a doubt the coolest fabric we've found. Heavyweight sashiko is hard to come by, and this fabric really pulls out all the stops. Made in Japan from 100% cotton, the fabric is made with four different colored yarns. A double ply fabric, the outside layer utilizes dark indigo yarns for the warp and a lighter indigo yarn for the weft. The inside layer is white, minimizing the dye transfer to any shirt you wear under the jacket. The prominent "stitch" yarns that makes sashiko unique are dyed with natural indigo which means they'll lose dye at a much faster rate than the rest of the fabric for optimal fades. Despite its heavy weight, this fabric is soft and comfortable from the first wear. No break in time.

The Scout Jacket fits much like you'd expect a modified Type III jacket; slightly cropped, fitted, but plenty of room to move and layer.

These jackets are pre-made and ready to ship instead of our normal made to order process. No lead time; ships same or next day. Limited to 20 pieces, individually numbered for a truly unique garment. Due to the difficulty of sourcing this fabric, we won't be making these again so once they're gone, they're gone.

As always, every Skinner American Goods garment is crafted start to finish by two people in our workshop using 15 vintage industrial sewing machines we've rescued from shuttered factories over the years.
