Engineer Shirt - 14oz. Nihon Menpu Hemp Selvedge
Engineer Shirt - 14oz. Nihon Menpu Hemp Selvedge
Our brand has always been inspired by early flight aesthetic and the time I spent with my grandpa in his hangar as a kid. A master metal fabricator and airplane mechanic, he was the inspiration for me to work with my hands and create. So when it was time to design a shirt, it was only natural that we would reference the shirts he wore around his shop. They were rugged and functional; everything they needed to be. With this ethos in mind, we designed the Engineer Shirt.
The 14oz. Japanese hemp/cotton blend neppy selvedge denim from Nihon Menpu is durable yet surprisingly comfortable. The hemp content gives this shirt an incredible feel against the skin. It's a great all-weather fabric, as hemp has the unique property of keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The neppy texture gives a unique appearance that you won't find in most other denim shirts. Double flap chest pockets with inverted box pleats expand so you can carry what you need, but lay flat when not full. Copper snaps and gold thread offer a bit of contrast to the dark indigo fabric.
As with most of our products, we've kept the fit in the "Goldilocks zone" that we love so much: tailored, but leaving enough room to move. The hem hits right at hip level so you can tuck it in or leave it out. Shop owner Daniel (pictured) is 5'11" 190lbs and is wearing a size large.

Care information
Care information
Spot clean when possible. Hand wash or machine wash cold when necessary, inside out on gentle cycle with light detergent. Hang dry only.
This denim is sanforized (pre-shrunk) but still shrinks a good amount in length after the first wash. We recommend adding 1" - 2" to your normal inseam.
As with all raw denim, expect some indigo transfer until the first few washes.
